Framed!

Finally got around to framing this piece, and I must say I love the look of it. I used an Ikea frame we had lying around and had to buy a new mat for it. It's now hanging in our entryway, but I keep telling hubs that it's much too big for that space. He disagrees, so i guess we'll keep it there. Kinda makes me want to frame up some more of my originals rather than stuff them in the cabinet...might as well look at them.

Been working on glass pendants lately for a wholesale order. Maybe if I ever get my booty in gear i'll post some in the shop cause they're really cute! But I've been oh-so lazy lately with the little shop, and if i'm not feelin' it then I don't do anything. Hopefully that will pass and i'll get some more new stuff going. I am still planning to take after pics of our kitchen and our new office! They look great, though the office lacks good lighting which bugs me. I call it the "dungeon". Hope y'all are havin' a good weekend!

Website

Yay! I got a chance to re-do my website last Friday, and I like it a lot better. I know it's still far from perfect, but I like it lots better, and my portfolio looks cleaner and more organized now. Go check it out and let me know if you have any ideas of things I should change!

The River

My newest painting...This is the one I was telling y'all about using the india ink. I have really grown to love creating abstract art lately, but I'm not sure why! We don't currently have any abstract art hanging in our house, though I'm certain that will change quickly! I should have this in the shops today or tomorrow.

Sneak Peek

Here are a couple of things I've been working on lately. I finished the turquoise/brown/orange painting on Saturday so I'll try to get that scanned in and in the shop sometime this week. As you know, I've been giving myself art classes. My latest things to experiment with is india ink. I've never used it before, and wanted something I could use easily to do some of the finer details of my paintings. So that turquoise/brown/orange painting also uses india ink. I'm still getting the hang of the quill thing-y that I was using, but it's fun! I'll definitely be doing more with it in the future. Then I felt like it's been ages since i did a flower painting, so the white canvas has a flower sketched on it. Not sure when i'll actually get to paint it yet, we'll see. I'm way behind on getting some consignment stuff done, and then there's my friend Adrien's (hi Adrien!) enormous painting to do. Oh, and we put in the floors in the kitchen last weekend and they look awesome! Even better than I thought they would! So I will post pics of the finished room soon.

One more thing...I've decided to get my alternative teaching certification and will be busy working on that in the coming months. I'm hoping to be teaching elementary school next school year, so I'm contemplating what to do about my business. I'm definitely going to keep it going, but I won't have nearly as much time to paint when I start working so i'm not sure how often it will be updated. We shall just have to wait and see how busy things are. I haven't worked a full-time job in 7 years, and certainly didn't have 3 kids at that time either. But I really enjoy painting and exploring my creativity, so i'm planning to continue doing what i'm doing- just on the side. Just thought you all would like to know!

Current Etsy Favorites!

I haven't posted any new favorites in awhile, so I thought i'd do that today. This first one is by erin lang norris of yellowcanoe titled "The Mountain". Erin's shop is empty at the moment, but if you're interested in this painting you can convo her on Etsy. It reminds me of winter for obvious reasons, but I love the patterns she uses in her work!

I know a lot of you have already seen these vases, but they're stinkin' cute nonetheless. By prettyrandomobjects, a small vase is $48 here. Very unique!

Oh, such a bummer. This necklace has already sold. It's by petitoiseau. She does a lot of jewelry with vintage bakelite. Go check out her shop to look at what else she has!

Lastly we have these gorgeous HANDMADE sandals from Sandali. She has about 5 or 6 styles, all of which are $40-50 a pair. I mean, REALLY! For handmade, leather sandals. She's only had a shop for less than a month, so I seriously think she will raise her prices once she realizes she could get way more! Go check out her shop to see what she has! Quick!
